Monday, July 29, 2013 - Farewell

Monday, July 29  - Farewell

These photos were taken at the Temuco airport on Monday afternoon, right before our flight.

President Martinez is down on one knee at wheelchair level. He is one of the kindest, most patient and tender men I have ever met.

Sister Martinez is behind her husband. Elder Balden, husband of the new mission nurse, is on the left. They took over our car and drove it back to Concepcion. Elder Benson, half of the office couple is on the right. They were the ones who introduced us to the mission and found our home in Victoria.

When Dr. Micksell arrived we repacked some of the luggage to allow him to carry the medical records.

I was able to find an Internet connection in Santiago and report on the first stage of our trip home.

"I am at Ruby Tuesday in Santiago. Successful flight from Temuco. He climbed the stairs ok and negotiated the bathroom. Todo etsa bien."

Dr. Mikesell was a great blessing to us on the long international flight. He accompanied Elder Babcock to the restroom and helped us negotiate the airports.
