Fortum and Avelox are the new antibiotics. I am very happy this morning, because last night I was very worried. Ken had a fever and Dr. Rivas thought he might have the meningitis back. He was going to order a lumbar puncture for this morning. The only good news was that if it was meningitis again, they were already giving him the antibiotics they would give him.
Ken woke up was very slow and foggy. He needed me to feed him breakfast and he couldn't do his saline nasal spray by himself. But when Dr. Rivas came, he didn't respond to neck touching like someone with meningitis would and didn't have the pain and complete loss of mobility. Apparently his sodium is low again. But the fever is gone. So I am back to happy. I told Dr. Rivas he has to stay here because when he comes Ken starts to act more normal. It is like taking a little kid to the doctor. All night you are terrified and in the morning the doctor cannot find anything wrong with him.II
I don't dare leave to go back to Victoria for clothes, but I can wash out underwear and hang it on the radiator. I might buy me a new shirt if I can find one that looks good, fits, and is warm enough. Neither Jumbo or Lider had anything yesterday, but there are two more department stores to try. I have a raw chicken in the fridge I will have to throw away and who knows what else.
