On the first day of the second hospitalization we finally got a photo of Doctora Concha. This was before many of the additional problems became evident, but it shows how happy Ken was to see her.

Doctora Concha was here last night to check on Ken and say goodbye for two weeks almost. She will see us on the 27th after she gets back from Santiago. Ken told me one night that he thinks Dr. Concha and her family are one of the reasons the Lord withdrew his hand of protection. He needed us to come back to the clinic. We had unfinished business. Ken asked if I could get the Book of Mormon he had prepared to give her earlier. This was when we had been here only a few days and Ken wasn't well enough to give her the Book himself.

I think it was Friday last week when Dr. Concha explained to us that she would be on vacation. She had promised to come on Wednesday, but didn't show. Evidently she has been sick and still is. She has a doctor in Santiago and a class too, so it will be a working vacation.

I asked if she would have time to read and told her that Ken had prepared a Book for her before we left the clinic last time but hadn't had opportunity to give it to her. She accepted it, read the dedication and promised she would read the book. We could tell she was touched. And we both felt a tremendous weight lifted and a great sense of peace.

When she is back, I will have the Sister Missionaries call her and offer to answer any questions she has about the Book of Mormon. I feel such great love for Dr. Concha.

Interesting that mental and physical confusion are connected. Last night after I returned from the hostel, Ken was mixing up his dreams with reality. He dreamed Dr. Rivas and family were being sealed in the temple and wanted to figure out how we could sneak in. Other things he had trouble sorting out. And I had to put up the sides of the bed. When the therapist came he couldn't do all the things he did in the afternoon. It was about 9:00 pm when things are going strong in Chile. The therapist was concerned enough that he talked to the doctor who came up to see us about 10:30. Of course Ken did well when the doctor was here, but the doctor tried hard to think of causes and solutions. We might change to a new room with fewer crying babies coming and going.
