Elder Wood wrote the following:

We returned the 9th of April and to my amazement, we found Elder Babcock awake, smiling, and with a hand extended for a handshake.  I don’t think I’ll soon forget the joy I saw on his face when we saw him.  We watched him get taken out of the room to have an exam done and watched Sister Babcock feed and put to sleep her eternal companion.  True love embodied in these my fellow missionaries.

Elder Alvarez and Elder Fresser

It was a morning of red clouds. I explained to my family the importance of blogs to Elder Babcock. He couldn’t remember our grandson Jack or our daughter Becca’s boyfriend. Photos may help. One issue at a time. He had good communication with the elders. Much progress. He also had many concerns but needed to use his mind to remember. Luanna, my daughter was safe in New York, closer to home.
