About 1:30 yesterday we went to the mall [Portal Temuco] for
lunch. We entered the parking lot from the north and drove a block through the
underground parking to the handicapped parking near the moving ramp that was
closest to Rincon Jumbo where we got lunch. It was a bit tricky to manage
two trays, but I found a close table. I was surprised at how noisy it was,
making it difficult to talk. After lunch we found the pharmacy in Jumbo and
bought some antacid. The ingredients weren't familiar, but I didn't
realize till we got home that it contained aluminum, probably one reason it is
not sold in the states.
Ken was excited to see ice cream cones for sale and we bought one for each of us. Ice cream is big in Chile, even in the winter time. We found a bench with room to sit, joining an older gentleman. Ken started being friendly and ended up being a missionary. We got his name and phone number and his wife's phone number so the elders could deliver a Book of Mormon. We gave the zone leaders the reference this morning. We continued the length of the mall, up the escalator, and the length of the second floor, with only one more rest stop. Then back to the car and the hostel. A big excursion for the day.
Ken has been trying to do all the computer updates and figure out the google apps that might have value. At 11:00 I am going to drive us to Victoria and pick up dry laundry and Pepto Bismol, which is not for sale in Chile. No bismuth even. I want to drive him around more this time.
